This also forms part of the Diploma in Personal Training

This qualification is for individuals who would like to work with clients on a 1-1 basis. This is a challenging and rewarding career in the fitness industry as you will be responsible for training people, tailoring their fitness programmes to suit their personal needs and requirements, and offering specialist dietary advice.

You must have a Level 2 Gym Instructor Qualification or similar

Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology: - Via E Learning
  • The heart and circulatory system
  • The musculoskeletal system
  • Postural and core stability
  • The nervous, endocrine and energy systems and their relation to exercise and health
Advanced Training:

Dates -20th - 23rd Feb 2012
  • Incorporate different resistance and cardiovascular training methods into an exercise programme
  • Construct and implement short term,medium and long-term exercise programmes (periodisation)
  • Plan one-to-one sessions
  • How to maintain health, safety and welfare in a variety of fitness environments, including the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
  • How to programme safe and effective exercise for a range of clients, the health benefits of physical activity and the importance of healthy eating
  • How to communicate with clients effectively, and motivate clients to adhere to an exercise programme
  • How to apply the principles of nutrition to support client goals as part of an exercise and physical activity programme
  • How to design, manage, and adapt a personal training programme with apparently healthy adults of all ages
  • How to deliver exercise and physical activity as part of a programme for apparently healthy adults of all ages
Level 3 Award in Fitness Testing:

Dates - 5th & 6th March 2012
  • How to analyse and assess clients fitness, blood pressure and body composition
  • Analyse posture
  • Assess muscular strength and endurance
  • Assess flexibility
  • Aerobic capacity
  • Stress and stress management techniques
  • Pre exercise screening
Level 3 Nutrition for Physical Activity:

Dates - 7th & 8th March 2012
  • Food labelling
  • Eating disorders and prevention
  • Sports nutrition concepts
  • Psychology of weight loss
  • Digestive systems
Assessment:

Each module will be assessed separately when you are ready via:
  • 2 x Theory papers
  • Practical assessment
  • Coursework
What to do now:
  • Complete an online application form, making your deposit, full payment  or (Easy payment options of either: 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly payment via Bank Standing Order Mandate)
  • You will receive access to your e learning for the theory
  • You will be assigned a tutor with contact via email or telephone
  • Your training resources will be sent to you in the post
  • Attend training days, returning for assessments when you are ready
